My Nomination for the WEGO Health Patient Advocacy Awards

In the last few weeks, I was nominated for 6 different WEGO Health Awards in honor of my advocacy work for patients who suffer from inflammatory bowel disease (IBD): Patient Leader Hero, Best Advocacy for Another, Best in Show: Blog, Best in Show: Facebook, Best in Show: Twitter and Rookie of the Year.

Now many of you might be wondering why I advocate. I advocate because we all deserve representation no matter the color of our skin, shape or size of our bodies, our gender, our sexual orientation or our ability (or lack thereof). ✊?

Why I advocate!

We all deserve representation for our illnesses and disabilities. And our conditions and the way we fight for our lives on a daily basis deserves to be recognized by society at large. The truth is many of us are invisibly ill and deeply so, so our struggles are largely glossed over and ignored. But with my advocacy work, I’m trying to change that for not just people of color but for anyone who falls outside the “norms” of society, whatever those may be.

So, if you’ve been keeping up with my blog and/or my social media pages and like what you’re seeing, please feel free to endorse me for one or all six awards, whatever you feel is relevant. I promise it will only take a minute of your time: https://awards.wegohealth.com/nominees/15999.?

So, own your Crohn’s, own your IBD, and make our struggles known to the world for the sake of equal rights and respect for us and for posterity!

Thank you! Your support and following really do mean so much to me ????

~~LOVE, LIGHT & PEACE ALWAYS~~
